Productive sums up Myles Gaskin and what he accomplished at the collegiate level. Here is the scouting report for Gaskin as he enters the 2019 NFL Draft.

The running back position in the NFL is still often viewed as a position that is less valued than 15, 20 years ago. The success rate of first round running backs is not favorable but with what has transpired so far from the likes of James White, Alvin Kamara, Devonta Freeman, Jordan Howard, and others, teams are likely to strike gold among mid-round running backs in the NFL Draft.

Which is where the University of Washington running back Myles Gaskin comes into play. Since the day Gaskin stepped on the campus, he was the source of great production. As a result, the Huskies won 39 games during Gaskin’s time there which included a College Football Playoff bid and two New Year’s Day bowl game appearances. Now, Gaskin looks to take his talents to the next level in this year’s draft. A talent level that can provide a team with a useful weapon and bring more value to an offense.

Myles Gaskin Measurables

More from NFL Mocks

Strengths: Possesses good play strength on runs in between the tackles despite being a sub-200 lb player…..Able to maintain balance as a runner and absorb contact, not your typical running back that goes down on initial contact……Slippery as a runner……Can win battles against defenders in one-on-one situations whether in between the tackles or outside on the boundary…..Four straight seasons of at least 1,200+ yards rushing with an average of 5.6 yards per carry during his collegiate career….Willing contributor in pass protection and able to position himself properly on blitz pickup…..His vision appears to be his strongest attribute, sets up defenders and can establish cutback run lanes on his own.

Weaknesses: Over 1,000 touches during his time at the University of Washington, can lead to a shortened career thanks to a lot of wear and tear….. Will never be known to have breakaway speed, is quicker than fast……Not shifty as a runner, won’t make defenders miss with jukes…..Due to size, may be limited to just be a rotational role in the NFL…..Although he shows effort in pass protection, lack of overall strength will cause him to struggle to pick up linebackers and defensive linemen consistently.

Conclusion: Rushing for over 5,000 yards in his career while operating out of the Pac-12 is nothing to frown about. Gaskin was often relied upon and in many cases, he delivered against quality competition. The talented running back is the perfect example of a running back that is pretty good at several aspects but not a definite standout in any of them. In a running back class that is not top reliant, Gaskin can be a late Day 2 or Day 3 target and can provide a solid addition to a running back room that will not rely on him for a bulk of carries.
