2019 NFL Mock Free Agency: Picking where the top 30 names sign
By Erik Lambert
20. Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals defense was an absolute mess last season. One of the primary culprits for their ineptitude was how painfully bad their linebacking corps was. It was obvious how steep the talent gap was at times. Something that didn’t use to be the case only a few years ago. They need to make swift and drastic upgrades in order to plug that hole this season.
Of course, finding a defensive coordinator first would be nice. Still, signing somebody like K.J. Wright may not garner tons of fanfare but it is a lowkey good move. Between 2014 and 2017, the former Seahawks veteran had over 100 tackles each year and made the Pro Bowl in 2016. An injury ended his year after just five games last season but he could provide desperately needed stability on the outside.
