ROUND FIVE (Pick 2): JAMAL DEAN, CB, Auburn

Picking two DBs in the 5th round might seem like overkill – unless your a Redskin fan. How many guys has this team brought in off the street over the years to line up in the secondary? I like what we have in place. Hopefully, Norman is still on board. Fabian Moreau is just getting started. Now there’s a guy who ran a 4.3 that can actually play football.

I’m still high on Josh Holsey, another Auburn corner and Quenton Dunbar, when healthy, is a great corner. Although, nerve damage is tricky. It’s an unpredictable injury that has ended many careers. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it works out for Dunbar. It would be tough to lose him. Additionally, Stroman performed well at times last year.

Certainly he was thrown into the fire. If nothing else he showed he can be at least a very good back up. Adonis Alexander is another talented DB but I’ve already moved him to safety in my mind. Jamal Dean, at 6’2 208, would be a welcome addition to this roster at the end of the 5th round. The old adage that you can never have enough DBs seems especially relevant for this Redskins team.
