Jason Pierre-Paul to the New England Patriots

This would be such a Patriots move. One thing Bill Belichick is so great at is recognizing older talents who still have gas in the tank and are about to be unloaded by their teams. He makes a move to grab them, puts them on the New England roster and squeezes a few more good years from them at a reasonable price. It happens almost every year and yet people wonder why the Patriots have been so consistently good for so long.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers already parted ways with defensive end Vinny Curry and there’s a distinct possibility they can do the same with Jason Pierre-Paul. They’re in the midst of switching to a 3-4 defense and he’s spent his entire career as a 4-3 defensive end. After posting 12.5 sacks, the Bucs may want to get some value back by trading the 30-year old. With Trey Flowers a free agent, this is exactly the type of move the Patriots would make.
