There’s no denying Toliver has talent. To come into and play meaningful snaps as a rookie undrafted free agent and not get burned badly? That’s what one would call a good sign. Physical skill isn’t his problem. It’s dedication, work ethic, and effort. If he can embrace that side of the game, Toliver has a chance to be an above-average starter in the NFL. He’ll definitely be given a chance to earn more snaps in 2019.

Right now I’m sitting at 50-50. There are plenty of reasons the Bears are the ideal landing spot. They run a system that made Hunt a star and he knows the head coach well. At the same time, this team already has bad experiences taking chances on players with stability issues off the field. Ask Ray McDonald. Do they want to venture down that road again? It’s hard to say. One could easily argue both sides.

Ryan Pace has wisely maintained his championing of the Best Player Available approach. It’s hard to argue the results at this point. The Bears have conducted some of the best drafting they’ve done in years. Just look at their previous two drafts which included Mitch Trubisky, Eddie Jackson, Tarik Cohen, Roquan Smith, James Daniels, and Anthony Miller. All of whom have become quality starters already in their careers. Three made it to the Pro Bowl.

I expect Pace to continue that approach. With that said, my list of team needs going into this offseason is K, DB, TE, EDGE, and WR.
