1. Washington Redskins

The most logical destination for Tyrod Taylor in the 2019 offseason?

Washington.

The Redskins lost Alex Smith to a gruesome leg injury that has put his 2019 season in doubt and his football career in general in jeopardy.

Jay Gruden’s job is going to be on the line this season and there’s a quarterback on the free agent market who can come in, execute his offense, and get the Redskins back into the postseason.

Taylor was born in Hampton, VA and played his college ball at Virginia Tech, about four-and-a-half hours away from where the Redskins play every single week.

Could there be a more obvious fit than this one in free agency?

The Redskins need a player who can elevate their offense, and no offense to Colt McCoy, but I’m not sure he’s the guy to do it. They need someone who can pick up the offense quickly, and not only that, but excel quickly. Taylor has experience running and excelling in the West Coast offense which we know the Gruden family loves.

With Smith’s status in doubt, it makes sense for the Redskins to throw a two-year contract at Taylor and offer him the opportunity to get the team back into postseason play, something he did in Buffalo and something he’s capable of doing again.
