3. Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos threw $36 million at Case Keenum last offseason, and if they want to move on after one season with Keenum, it will cost them $10 million to cut him.

On the bright side, the Broncos could save $11 million by cutting Keenum and if they were planning to invest at least $20 million at quarterback this offseason (Keenum has a cap hit of $21 million) they could throw some cash at Tyrod Taylor and try to bring him in for a third time.

Yes, that’s right — a third time.

Taylor was pursued by the Broncos as a free agent in 2015 when he ended up signing with the Buffalo Bills instead. He didn’t want to be Peyton Manning’s backup even though he and Gary Kubiak had developed a strong relationship in 2014 when they were together in Baltimore.

Before the Broncos acquired Keenum last year, they inquired about Taylor when he was put on the block with the Bills, but the Browns out-bid everyone with a third-round draft pick.

Denver missed out twice on Taylor, but could the third time be the charm?

This Broncos team is desperate to win. If they aren’t dead set on drafting a quarterback in the first round again this year, they might be interested in a player like Taylor who minimizes mistakes and could be a great fit in Rich Scangarello’s offense.
