Trevor Siemian, Minnesota Vikings

Age: 27

Trevor Siemian is not going to be pursued as a starting quarterback in free agency, but rather a highly valued backup who could start for a team in a pinch and keep the offense on schedule.

Ask him to start for an extended period of time? Well, we saw in Denver how that went.

With that said, Siemian is a smart player who has a lot of experience for a 27-year old former seventh-round draft pick who sat out his entire rookie season.

Siemain was acquired in a trade by the Minnesota Vikings who wanted him as the backup to Kirk Cousins.

When Siemian came into the league, he impressed then Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak, his QBs coach Greg Knapp, and offensive coordinator Rick Dennison enough to the point that the team kept him out of the undrafted player pool and took him in the seventh round.

Kubiak and his pals are now on the Vikings’ staff, so it would make a lot of sense if they wanted to keep Siemian around as a quality backup to Cousins.

If Siemian does go elsewhere, he played his college ball at Northwestern (Bears?) and grew up in Florida (Dolphins, Jaguars, Bucs?) so there will be options for him around the league.
