Teddy Bridgewater, New Orleans Saints

Age: 26

The New Orleans Saints have a pretty good thing going with Drew Brees right now, but the fit for Teddy Bridgewater there makes some sense.

He got the chance to start the final regular season game of the season for the Saints, and didn’t look great but was at least able to knock some of the rust off.

Bridgewater is what he was a year ago at this time — a wild card option for some team. He’s not a shot in the dark like he was last year, but he hasn’t been a full-time starter for anyone since 2015 when he appeared on the verge of becoming the next franchise quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings.

There may not be a better fit for Bridgewater in free agency than the Saints, though he could certainly get some looks from the Giants (Pat Shurmur connection), Jaguars, and other teams looking to take a shot on him.

He’s 26 years old, looked great in preseason play for the Jets last year, and was a big investment for the Saints who gave up a third-round pick for him.

There are plenty of question marks still with Bridgewater but the talent is there and there’s still some upside with him at the age of 26.
