#1: Saints-Rams refs

The game as a whole was probably one of the worst officiated in recent memory. The ref crew missed a ton of calls and made others that were highly questionable. Yet the fact is they absolutely cost the Saints a chance to get to the Super Bowl. It’s impossible to argue from any angle, no matter how hard Rams fans may try. That hit delivered by cornerback Nickel Robey-Coleman to receiver TommyLee Lewis wasn’t just a penalty. It was two penalties.

Not only did Robey-Coleman clearly arrive early with his hit, which was pass interference. He also came in high and looked like he made visible contact to Lewis’ helmet. That’s hit on a defenseless receiver. Either way, it should’ve given the Saints a first down and a chance to either score a touchdown or run down more clock before attempting a field goal at the end. There were refs in clear sight of what happened. They should’ve pulled the flags out. They didn’t. That game is on them.
