Five X-Factors For Conference Championships

  • James White, RB, Patriots – He had 15 catches in the divisional round against the Chargers and he will be key once again against Kansas City. He is a matchup nightmare out of the backfield and there is a good chance he gets over a dozen catches again.
  • Sammy Watkins, WR, Chiefs – Tyreek Hill may be kept in check with Stephon Gilmore pressing him, so it is time for Watkins to step up. He played last week for the first time in a while, tallying six catches for 62 yards. If the Chiefs are going to outscore the Patriots, Watkins will need to put in a bigger day.
  • Samson Ebukam, EDGE, Rams – The Rams have to find a way to disrupt the Saints offense this week, an offense that dropped 45 on them in the Superdome back in November. Ebukam was big in a win over the Chiefs in the regular season, and getting pressure on Drew Brees is essential for a win.
  • Andrus Peat, OL, Saints – Blocking Aaron Donald is a difficult task, and Andrus Peat will get plenty of time with that on Sunday. If he keeps Donald out of the backfield, it’s hard to imagine the Saints losing.
  • C.J. Anderson, RB, Rams – Controlling the clock against New Orleans is huge, and C.J. Anderson has been an excellent pickup for the Rams. Another 100 yard game and the Rams will have New Orleans right where they want them down the stretch by limiting their possessions.
