The one trade every NFL team should make this 2019 offseason
By Erik Lambert
Everybody knows the New England Patriots are desperately searching for the heir apparent to Tom Brady who is reaching ever further into his 40s now. While he remains really good, it’s becoming clear time is finally catching up to him. Having trading Jimmy Garoppolo, the team has no future at the position. If they aren’t willing to find it via the draft, then they may have to secure it another way. This is exactly the sort of move they’d pull off.
There’s every reason to think the Titans may be ready to move on from Marcus Mariota. His production has been erratic, to say the least and he’s been dealing with frequent health issues as well. Dealing him to the Patriots would get them plenty of draft currency to restructure the roster while the Patriots could sit him behind Brady as both his backup and eventual replacement. This would also allow his body time to heal.
