This may surprise a lot of people. The Rams just got done trading for Marcus Peters last offseason. Why would they suddenly desire to move him out now? Namely for two reasons. Peters hasn’t lived up to their hopes as a shutdown type of corner since arriving from Kansas City. Then there’s the issue of money. He’ll be expecting a new contract soon and that could be a problem with several other players on the roster due a new deal as well.

So rather than fork over lots of money to an erratic player, they decide to unload him for a reasonable draft pick. The Atlanta Falcons need more help on the back end after what happened this past season. Dan Quinn is no stranger to dealing with cornerbacks who have personality question marks. He did it for years in Seattle with Richard Sherman. He might be the coach needed to get Peters back to his All-Pro form.
