Nick Foles prepares for his second-straight unlikely playoff run with the Philadelphia Eagles. This creates an odd situation for the veteran QB.

He’s played so well during his return to the team last year and it has the attention of the rest of the NFL. If it continues, the growing belief is his trade value will undergo a significant spike. Something the Eagles are reportedly considering carefully with plans to stick with Carson Wentz moving forward. This could create a strong market this coming offseason.

After all, early reports aren’t promising in regards to both free agency and the draft at quarterback. Several top names have either returned to school or not shown as much as hoped with their contracts expiring. Philadelphia could move to retain Foles on a one-year deal via his option or the franchise tag and then sell him off to the highest bidder.

The question as always is which teams might have the most interest? Here are the ones who stand out.

Miami Dolphins

More from NFL Mocks

Rumors have grown hot that the Dolphins are ready to move on from Ryan Tannehill. There’s just one problem. They have nobody in place to take over for him and their draft position is hardly ideal for finding a successor as well. That means their options are limited. Either they try to find somebody decent in free agency or see if they can move up in the 1st round. Neither is ideal. However, trading for Foles might be a desirable alternative. It gives them a proven winner who’s still fairly young that they can build around.

Tennessee Titans

This may surprise some people, but it shouldn’t. The Tennesee Titans have tried to be patient with Marcus Mariota but the fact is the former top pick isn’t playing great and he’s been dealing with a lot of worrisome injuries. Most notably to his elbow. Keep in mind neither the GM or head coach were involved in drafting him. So if they wanted to make the move away from him without losing their ability to compete, a trade for Foles would be a top option.

Denver Broncos

John Elway is a curious beast. There’s just no telling what he’s going to do, especially in regards to the quarterback position. The Broncos didn’t get what they’d hoped for from Case Keenum in 2018. Does this mean they try to find another option or see if a coaching change helps? If it’s the former, then a guy like Foles would appeal to him. He’s experienced, big, proven in the playoffs, and features the kind of strong arm that drives the ball down the field. Just like Elway did.

Cincinnati Bengals

Marvin Lewis is gone and with him the shield that has been protecting Andy Dalton for years. It’s clear that the quarterback isn’t capable of elevating his game when needed. A big reason why the Bengals haven’t won a playoff game in so many tries. Foles would be a considerable upgrade over him, at least in the talent department if nothing else. He can open things up down the field and brings that postseason mentality they sorely lack.
