Conference championships

Chicago Bears at New Orleans Saints

It seems the shoe is on the other foot here. Twelve years ago, a veteran Bears team hosted an upstart Saints squad in the NFC championship for the right to reach the Super Bowl. Chicago took care of business. Now the script is flipped. New Orleans is the more experienced team playing at home against a young Bears team who just broken a long postseason drought. Defense does travel but the Saints are good against everybody in that dome. Tough call.

Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots

Chris Ballard said the rivalry was back on after Josh McDaniels spurned the Colts in favor of returning to New England. Turns out he wasn’t kidding. These two teams haven’t played in a meaningful game since the AFC championship back in 2014. The now infamous Inflategate game. Once again the Patriots are at home and Indianapolis is trying to break their run of bad luck in that stadium. Frank Reich is a good coach in tough situations. So he’ll give them a chance.
