Which QB has the most to prove on Wild Card weekend?
By Joel Deering
4. Andrew Luck – Indianapolis Colts
Andrew Luck has had some playoff success to this point of his career. During his first three seasons in the NFL, Luck took the Colts to the playoffs. He led them one step deeper into the playoffs each of those three seasons. However, there are two things Luck has yet to do in the postseason.
One of those things is making it to the Super Bowl. The other is winning a Super Bowl.
Luck is known as one of the elite QBs in the NFL, but yet he has never even made a Super Bowl appearance. To put even more pressure on Luck, he was the number one overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Who else was in that draft class? Nick Foles and Russell Wilson. Both Foles and Wilson were drafted in the third-round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Both have won Super Bowls, while Luck has yet to play in one.
Things have been easier on Wilson and Foles in their Super Bowl runs, as they were both backed by elite defensive units. Luck hasn’t had that, until now. The Colts hold the 10th best defense in the NFL in points allowed (21.5). This could be the best defense Andrew Luck has ever had.
What will he accomplish with a defense like this? Luck still has many years left in the NFL, but there’s more pressure to win in the postseason because Wilson and Foles are both Super Bowl champs.
