8. Nick Foles – Philadelphia Eagles

After what Nick Foles helped the Eagles accomplish in the playoffs last season, he’s got nothing to prove in this year’s playoffs. Just one season ago, he stepped in at QB for a team who was labeled as the underdog in every playoff game because he was running the show. The reason the Eagles were supposed to lose every playoff game last year became the reason they won the Super Bowl.

Foles is in the perfect situation. Even after winning the Super Bowl last season, the Eagles will still likely be underdogs in every playoff game they play. If they win playoff games, the Eagles get to make fun of the teams they beat because they beat them with a backup QB. If the Eagles lose, they have the excuse that they’re playing with their backup QB.

I’m sure Eagles fans would love to see Foles lead them back to the Super Bowl, but surely they can’t have those same expectations for a guy who is a backup QB.

Regardless of what Foles does on Wild Card weekend, he will always be the backup QB who won a Super Bowl. It doesn’t really matter what he does from here on out. He will always have that.
