Cleveland Browns

Prediction: Mike McCarthy

Known Candidates: Freddie Kitchens, Gregg Williams, Kevin Stefanski, Josh McDaniels, Nick Sirianni, Mike McCarthy

The Browns’ head coaching job is probably the most attractive opening this offseason.

The drafting of Baker Mayfield with the top overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft has reset the course for this franchise completely.

Along with Mayfield being in place, the Browns also have a strong defensive core with Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward leading the way.

This team has such a strong young core on both sides of the ball, any prospective head coach should be pining for the job.

McCarthy has the strongest resumé of any candidate on the market, having gone to the playoffs the majority of his tenure in Green Bay with Aaron Rodgers in place as his quarterback.

McCarthy could presumably keep both Williams and Kitchens on his staff as well, something the Browns would seem to favor (they are blocking Kitchens from other interviews).

McCarthy could bring his championship pedigree to Cleveland, keep the coordinators in place who did such a great job after Hue Jackson was fired, and keep this train rolling into the future.
