Where will all of this year’s prospective head coaches land? We predict each available NFL head coach opening with the most likely candidates.

The NFL head coach carousel continues to spin around and around with eight jobs open for someone to take in the 2019 offseason.

Which candidates will emerge for the available positions? Let’s take a look at each team with an opening, their (known) candidates, and who lands where.

Cincinnati Bengals

Prediction: Vance Joseph

Known Candidates: Vance Joseph, Bill Lazor, Darrin Simmons, Hue Jackson, Zac Taylor, Shane Waldron, Eric Bieniemy

The Bengals fired Marvin Lewis after 16 seasons of working with the team. Early on, Lewis was doing an incredible job given the state of the Bengals when he inherited the team as a head coach.

Over the past 16 seasons, however, it’s become apparent that change is needed in Cincinnati and it was finally too much for management to ignore.

I think ultimately they will select Vance Joseph, a former defensive assistant in Cincinnati and more recently head coach of the Denver Broncos, to succeed Lewis.

Joseph didn’t have an ideal roster in Denver and has a bit more to work with offensively in Cincinnati. At least, Andy Dalton is better than any quarterback he had in Denver.

With some actual stability at quarterback, Joseph may have more success the second time around as an NFL head coach.
