Round 1 Pick 11

Devin White – LB – LSU

The Bengals desperately need linebacker help, and at 11th overall, they should have a shot at the top linebacker in the draft. The Bengals’ linebackers were terrible this year, and there is no other way to put it. White would be an instant starter and provide an immediate impact.

White is one of the most athletic players in the draft. So athletic that he was once a top ranked running back recruit. Now he’s one of the nations best inside linebackers. White will probably be knocked for being “undersized” at 6’1″. However, the game is transitioning and smaller more athletic linebackers are beginning to shine.

Look at Roquan Smith, also 6’1″, or former LSU Tiger Deion Jones, also 6’1″. White uses his athleticism to his advantage, flying around sideline to sideline to find the ball.

White is a very smart linebacker, which is why his size does not affect his game. His high football IQ helps him break down plays and go to the open lane and avoid blockers. White is a very good tackler who can destroy ball carriers with big hits.

The Bengals would be a dream spot for White to land, where he could immediately be the leader of this defense and help turn it around. If White is on the board, he is a no brainer pick for the Bengals.
