With Marvin Lewis now out of the picture, it will be up to a new coach to attempt and turn the Cincinnati Bengals around. Where will the new coaching staff start?

Marvin Lewis is gone. Marvin Lewis is actually gone! Believe it or not Bengals fans, the time has finally come. After 16 years and zero playoff wins, the Bengals will finally see a new coach in 2019.

While we do not know who it will be yet, there is at least a little reason to be excited as a Bengals fan this offseason.

The new coach will hold the 11th pick in the upcoming draft, where they will need to attack the defensive side of the ball. The Bengals had one of the leagues worst defenses in football this past season.

While it did get better once Lewis toke over the defensive play calling, the Bengals are desperate for help. Specifically at linebacker, Preston Brown was good but not great, Vontaze Burfict needs to go, and Hardy Nickerson is flat out bad. Nick Vigil gave them some hope, and we never got a look at Malik Jefferson.

Offensively they could still use some offensive line work and a replacement for Tyler Eifert. If the new coach does decide to move on from Andy Dalton, I think they wait until 2020 when there is a much stronger quarterback class.
