03. New York Jets at Buffalo Bills (2015)

It’s rare that these two teams ever play a meaningful football game late in the year but 2015 was a wacky one in many respects. The Jets were white-hot, having won five-straight games going into this one. All they had to do was take care of their business against Buffalo, a team they’d already beaten earlier that year and they’d be back in the playoffs for the first time since 2010.

Things did not start well. New York fell behind early 13-0 and trailed 16-7 going into the half. Still, they slowly climbed their way back into the game with 10 points to narrow the gap to 19-17 by the start of the 4th quarter. Buffalo managed a field goal to increase the Bills lead to five but the Jets still got the ball back with 3:49 left. Plenty of time to go down and win the game.

The drive started well, going from the New York 20 to their 45. Then Ryan Fitzpatrick, who’d been brilliant all season long, finally ran out of magic, throwing a catastrophic interception. Buffalo took over and managed to bleed another precious minute off the clock. The Jets got the ball back with 44 seconds left. There was still time, but then Fitzpatrick threw another interception to end it.
