09. Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers (2011)

This may have been one of the greatest shootouts in any season finale in NFL history. What’s even crazier is that not a single person on the planet saw it coming. For one the game between the Lions and Packers was expected to be played in cold and snowy conditions. Not exactly ideal circumstances for offensive football. For another? Green Bay was expected to sit and rest MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers, giving the start to backup Matt Flynn.

What followed was one of the wildest games ever played. The two teams combined for 86 points on the day. Matthew Stafford, in the midst of his career-best season, threw for 520 yards and five touchdowns. Somehow that wasn’t enough to match Flynn who delivered far and away the best performance of his career with a whopping six touchdown passes including the game-winner to hand Green Bay the win 45-41.
