2019 Pro Bowl snubs: The top 4 underrated but deserving players left out
Desmond King, DB, Chargers
Among those who were snubbed in this year’s Pro Bowl and the 2017 NFL Draft, Desmond King is probably at the top of the list.
King was a fifth-round draft choice out of Iowa in 2017 despite a stellar career with the Hawkeyes and an All-American bid his junior season, which included an NCAA-high eight interceptions.
He picked off 14 passes at Iowa and took three back for touchdowns, also proving his value as a return specialist. He was much better in college than his draft status reflected, and the Chargers got themselves a steal.
He made an impact right away for Los Angeles, starting four games as a rookie while racking up 71 tackles, four sacks, five pass breakups, and an interception for a touchdown.
In 2018, he’s developed even further as a playmaker for the Los Angeles defense, racking up 51 tackles so far, 10 pass breakups, three interceptions (one for a touchdowns), and a punt return for a touchdown.
