NFL Hot Seat: Ron Rivera rising fast up the list

Wildcards
Marvin Lewis (Cincinnati Bengals)
At this point, nobody can say they know for sure what the Bengals will do with Lewis. It felt like he should’ve been fired years ago but every time they decide again and again to bring him back. Now with the Andy Dalton-A.J. Green era starting its slow decline, it’s hard to say where they go from here. Even if they win out and finish 8-8, it won’t exactly reinforce that the team is in a good place. Will ownership continue to stand by him? Place your bets.
Jay Gruden (Washington Redskins)
In all honesty, the Redskins would be most unwise if they fired Gruden. What he’s gotten out of that roster given the ridiculous array of injuries and frankly lackluster talent overall deserves maximum praise. Still, his inability to keep a hold on the division combined with the erratic decision-making of that ownership means it’s quite possible he could be let go. If that happens, don’t be surprised if he’s scooped up in short order by another team.
