#5: Tiki Barber vs. Washington Redskins (2006)

The man has a complicated relationship with the city of New York. Everybody remembers how Tiki Barber left town. He retired earlier than anybody expected, did it publicly and then criticized some in the locker room after he left. A lot of former teammates and fans took exception to that and he was labeled as a villain from then on. Still, time does heal all wounds. Eventually, people came back around to appreciate all the great things Barber did as a Giant.

That includes carrying the team to a playoff berth on his back during the last regular season game of his career. New York looked dead in the water going into the season finale against Washington. Eli Manning wasn’t playing well and the defense had allowed 30+ points in each of the past two games. If they wanted a shot at the playoffs, he would have to do it himself. That’s what he did, racking up 234 yards and three touchdowns including the 50-yarder that proved the difference.

He wasn’t the fan favorite or a perfect teammate, but the guy got it done whenever needed.
