Round 3, Pick 81

Te’von Coney – ILB – Notre Dame

One area the Broncos have no weakness is with both outside linebackers. Von Miller and Bradley Chubb are one of the leagues best passing rushing duos. Where the Broncos have struggled at times is with the inside linebacker spot.

Between Todd Davis, Brandon Marshall, and Josey Jewell, the Broncos have had up and down linebacker play between the three. Marshall and Jewell both have struggled with injuries throughout 2018.

Coney is an excellent inside, run stopping linebacker. He is a clean tackler who can effectively pick the correct gap the running back will be coming from and make the stop. Where he lacks in athleticism he makes up for with a high football IQ.

A solid run stopper and zone coverage linebacker, Coney would fill in excellent along side Miller and Chubb.
