Round 2, Pick 57

Beau Benzschawel – OG – Wisconsin

Thanks to their trade last year with Seattle, the Texans now have the benefit of having two second round picks. The Texans make another move to keep Watson healthy and turn to David Edwards teammate at Wisconsin. Beau Benzschawel is some scouts top rated interior lineman.

Like Edwards, Beau has a very ideal offensive lineman build. At 6’6″ and 315 pounds, he is built similar to Edwards. His large body size helps prevent him from being knocked off his feet, and helps him move defensive lineman out of the way to open up inside run lanes.

Benzschawel is one of the main reasons Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor has seen so much success. Beau excels at run blocking, using his size and athleticism to his advantage. His abilities do not stop there as he can drop into pass blocking very well and uses his strong lower body to maintain position on defenders.

Like Edwards, Beau could step in day one for the Texans and provide immediate run and pass support for Watson and the rest of the offense.
