Roger Saffold (OG)

Sometimes until you can get a young kid in there for the long-term, the best thing to do is find a veteran who can fill the void for a year or two. If that’s the way the Bears were to take it, then Roger Saffold might be somebody they should look to. He’s already been a major part of the Los Angeles Rams offense protecting Pro Bowl quarterback Jared Goff. His biggest value though may be his ability to run block.

Saffold is often one of the key guys who has helped spring star running back Todd Gurley for big plays. He has that size and power to generate movement in tight spaces. Something the Bears haven’t gotten enough of from their interior. If Kyle Long is determined to be a casualty in 2019, then Saffold can be somebody who can fill that spot immediately. Presuming the Rams don’t try to retain him of course.
