Jay Gruden (Washington Redskins)

People might be shocked to see Gruden on this list considering he’s been able to keep the Redskins competitive despite some rather dubious roster deficiencies over the years. Not to mention ongoing turmoil at the top. No, the reason he’s on this list isn’t that he’s in immediate danger of being fired. There’s a sneaking suspicion he may decide to resign.

It sounds crazy but look at the facts. His quarterback will be coming off a brutal leg injury and may not be the same. His roster, in general, is aging at some troubling spots and worst of all his front office continues to bring embarrassment down on him by proxy thanks to moves like claim Reuben Foster off waivers.

There’s no doubt Gruden would have options elsewhere if he walked. Perhaps replacing his former mentor Marvin Lewis in Cincinnati. Just call it a hunch.
