UCF fights their way to the AAC title

The first half told one story but the second half produced a totally different outcome.

Down 38-21 at halftime and allowing over 300 rushing yards in the first half, the #8 UCF Knights capped off their undefeated season with a comeback victory over the Memphis Tigers in the American Athletic Conference championship game.

The cards were stacked against especially after a completely dreadful first half. Not having their leader in Mckenzie Milton on the field show definite impact. However, UCF head coach Josh Heupel has discussed his team’s resiliency in the recent past and it was definitely on display here.

The expectations from the program was that they had a seat at the College Football Playoff table after this win, which marked back-to-back undefeated seasons. Ultimately, they had to “settle” for a berth in the Fiesta Bowl on New Years Day against #11 LSU.

Definitely not what they wanted, but this does provide an opportunity for UCF to play against elite competition on a big stage.
