With week 14 of the college football season in the books, let’s pinpoint some key takeaways from this week’s college football action.

The College Football Playoff field is set thanks to a conference championship week that left viewers on the edge of their seat in anticipation for the final CFP revealings.

While they may not be playing in the College Football Playoff, the #9 Washington Huskies are bound for the prestigious Rose Bowl thanks to a 10-3 win over #17 Utah in the Pac-12 championship. A game that was filled with stellar defensive play on both sides and saw Huskies CB Byron Murphy walk away as game MVP.

A second chance for #21 Fresno State to take down #25 Boise State was all they needed as they took home the Mountain West Conference championship with a 19-16 overtime win.

During this important week, the Heisman race narrowed considerably also. More on that a little later.

Here are the key takeaways from this past week in college football.
