Prediction

As written earlier, this matchup between the two SEC giants has a lot on the line. Both teams enter this game coming off blowout wins over their in-state rival and the winner here will likely be the favorite to win the College Football Playoff also.

Going back to their last matchup, the Georgia defense was able to have their way against quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Alabama offense. The arm talent of Tagovailoa opened things up for the Crimson Tide when he entered after halftime and passed for three touchdowns in the second half.

The Bulldogs have a little more film to work with against Tagovailoa but in defense, the Alabama passing game has opened up a lot more since the last meeting.

The run game for the Bulldogs is key here but probably equally important is the steadiness of Fromm. He showed all last season as a true freshman to have a knack to play calm and cool despite obvious pressure. If he can stay even keel and play as the smartest player on the field, Georgia can very well walk away as the winner.

In this one, the play of Tagovailoa and the Alabama defense has been Alabama-esque. Georgia will look to run the ball early and often but they may have to break out of their element a little thanks to the Alabama offense making a few big plays on the Georgia defense.

Score: Alabama 31, Georgia 23
