Washington Takes The Apple Cup

With a division title also on the line, the 111th Apple Cup was the stage for a top-25 showdown between #10 Washington (9-3, 7-2 Pac-12) and #12 Washington State (10-2, 7-2). In a heavy snowfall, Washington arose to win their sixth straight over their in-state rival and are now bound for the Pac-12 championship game.

With a pounding run game that totaled 258 yards and a defense that held an offense that scored 34 or more points on seven different occasions to just 15 total points, the Huskies pulled off the impressive win to prevent the Cougars from reaching the Pac-12 title game for the third year in a row.

The definition of spoiling the party.

It was without a doubt the best win on the season for Washington but it was also the most deflating loss for the Cougars. Its high-powered offense could do absolutely nothing.

A tip of the cap is headed towards Washington head coach Chris Peterson for this stellar gameplan and win.
