With week 13 of the college football season in the books, let’s pinpoint some key takeaways from this week’s college football action.

Continuity in the College Football Playoff rankings appear no more after this week. Rivalry week in college football has set the table for Championship week which is sure to bring us more compelling action.

It remains to be seen if anything can top what we just saw this past week however.

Both the #1 (Alabama) and #2 (Clemson) teams in the country turned a close contest early on against their arch rivals Auburn and South Carolina respectively into complete routs en route to their conference title games next week.

A bowl game appearance streak no longer exists for the Florida State Seminoles as they end their 5-7 season with a blowout loss to rival #11 Florida. The Holy War between BYU and #17 Utah saw a 21-point fourth quarter for the Utes result in a comeback victory.

Here are the key takeaways from this past week in college football.
