Round 1, 14 overall: Josh Allen, EDGE, Kentucky

As stated before, edge rusher needs to be a top priority for the Packers in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Matthews and Perry could be out, and Kyler Fackrell and Reggie Gilbert aren’t top options on the edge going forward. Right now, the Packers are picking 14th, and there is sure to be top talent on the edge at that spot.

Kentucky edge rusher Josh Allen would be a great fit in Green Bay. At 6’5″ and 260 pounds, he fits the frame on an edge rusher in today’s NFL. Allen came back to school for his senior year, and it paid off.

He has 14 sacks in just 12 games this season, which is fantastic production. He bends extremely well on the edge and possesses strong hands and good quickness. He could develop into a double digit sack guy in the NFL.

Round 1, 32 overall: Devin Bush, LB, Michigan

This might seem like an odd selection considering linebacker wasn’t one of the top needs described previously. But, the elephant in the room is that the Packers have consistently drafted linebackers that don’t quite fit the modern game. Blake Martinez is a strong player at the line of scrimmage, but he lacks a lot when it comes to coverage.

Finding a linebacker who can do it all would benefit the Packers greatly.

He isn’t talked about like the two top linebackers in the class, but Devin Bush has played very well at Michigan this season. He has the speed to play sideline-to-sideline and the instincts to attack gaps and blow plays up.

Mike Pettine would love to have someone in the middle of his defense to send on the blitz, a place where Bush excels. He would be a great complement to Martinez.
