Patrick Mahomes proves Drew Brees is the NFL MVP in MNF loss

Patrick Mahomes’ Fatal Flaw
Throwing INTs wasn’t just a problem for Patrick Mahomes against the Rams. It’s been a problem for the majority of the season. Mahomes didn’t throw an INT in the first four games of the season. Since then, Mahomes has thrown at least one INT in six of the last seven games. In three of those games, Mahomes threw multiple INTs.
On the season, Mahomes has thrown a total of 10 INTs. While Mahomes may be leading the NFL in passing yards and TDs, he’s also tied for fourth in most INTs thrown.
Mahomes has been able to get away with throwing INTs against teams like the Jaguars, Bengals, Broncos and Browns. None of those teams are elite Super Bowl contenders. Against the Patriots and Rams (Both Super Bowl contenders), Mahomes threw multiple INTs. The Chiefs lost both games.
Against the Patriots, Mahomes threw two INTs. Those INTs didn’t come in the fourth quarter with the game on the line, but I’m willing to bet that if he hadn’t thrown those INTs, the Chiefs win that game. Instead, Mahomes gave Tom Brady extra possessions, which led to the Chiefs falling short on a late comeback attempt.
As I already pointed out, Mahomes had two chances to win against the Rams, but threw an INT on both drives. Giving the ball away multiple times against the best teams. Giving the ball away with the game on the line multiple times. Does that sound like a player who should be crowned as NFL MVP? Not in my book.
