Brian Billick (Baltimore Ravens)

Brian Billick is known to the newer generation of NFL fans as an on-air host for the NFL, but believe it or not he was once the head coach of the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens (2000).

The 2000 Ravens had arguably the greatest defense to ever take the field, but defense was never Billick’s specialty. He was an offensive assistant in the NFL, breaking into the league with the Vikings in the early 1990s.

He was named the NFL’s Assistant of the Year by the Pro Football Writer’s Association before being named head coach of the Ravens, and after a 4-0 postseason run in 2000, Billick and the Ravens only won one playoff game in the next seven seasons.

They could have been one of the great defensive dynasties in the NFL, but Billick and company were unable to get more than 10 wins until 2006 when they won 13 games and lost to the Colts in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Billick was fired after the Ravens went 5-11 in the 2007 season.
