Bud Grant and his four Super Bowl losses would’ve been the obvious choice on the surface but the fact of the matter is Grant had sustained success for almost two full decades in Minnesota. He had the misfortune of running into some great teams during those Super Bowl runs including the undefeated era Miami Dolphins and dynasty Pittsburgh Steelers. On the other hand, Danny Green had some great teams too but never even made it to the big game.

Despite that ridiculous run of good fortune at the toughest position in the NFL to scout, Green managed just four playoff victories in 10 seasons with the Vikings. His 15-1 team’s loss in the NFC championship in 1998 was the pinnacle of his underachievement. That was the first team to reach that record to not win a championship.
