With week 12 of the college football season in the books, lets pinpoint some key takeaways from this week’s college football action.

It was a quiet week for college football in terms of ‘headline’ games but we can save all of that fun for next week which is appropriately called “Rivalry Week”.

Yet, week 12 in college football allowed us to take an even closer look at a few other teams outside of the top four in the College Football Playoff rankings.

The #7 LSU Tigers narrowly escaped the Arkansas Razorbacks a week ago but in their first home game since the devastating loss to #1 Alabama two games ago, got back to their normal ways with a 42-17 victory over Rice.

For the first time since 1996, the Army Black Knights have found their way into the AP top 25 poll after a 28-14 win over Colgate. The Boston College Eagles were in the top 25 prior to a road game against Florida State but the late fourth quarter touchdown by the Seminoles sends the Eagles on the outside looking in.

On to more takeaways from this past week in college football.
