The Patriots have always built their defensive success up front. They love to invest high draft choices in the defensive line. Given the strength of this draft class, it’s only logical that they place their focus there.

One thing Bill Belichick loves to do is take calculated risks on players with immense upside who might not be playing their best. That’s because he believes in the system he’s built being able to draw it out of them. Based on past results? It’s hard to argue with it.

Dexter Lawrence is a powerhouse defensive tackle who can outmuscle just about anybody. He’s already a headache to deal with but his upside is so much more substantial. If the Patriots can get his motor running hot, he’ll be unstoppable.
