Prediction

Of the four teams who find themselves in the College Football Playoff rankings at this point, Notre Dame is viewed as the “weaker” of the four. Even a 10-0 record can not necessarily quiet down the critics.

Getting quarterback Ian Book back from injury is a sizable coup and establishes dependability on offense. Syracuse presents an interesting matchup for Notre Dame and make no mistake, this presents a challenge for the Notre Dame and their quest to make the College Football Playoff.

Even with Notre Dame’s stingy scoring defense, Syracuse has enough ammo to make this a shootout early. Dungey is a tough-minded quarterback who is difficult to rattle and the Syracuse offense has been clicking consistently this season.

What may be the difference here is the big game atmosphere that will be present as this game kicks off. While Syracuse has exceeded expectations this season, this is a game that can be easily won by the team that has performed on an elevated stage.

Points will be aplenty in this one but the Notre Dame defense is capable of making the necessary plays at the most necessary moments.
