Cincinnati Bengals: Adam Jones takes over for Johnathan Joseph
Despite not playing at all in 2007 or 2009, the Cincinnati Bengals saw the potential in Adam Jones.
Flaws and all.
The Bengals’ belief in Jones may have bit them in the butt a time or two, but Jones has quietly carved out a fantastic NFL career despite spending his first four seasons in the league on three different rosters, including with the team who drafted him (Titans) and the Dallas Cowboys.
When he arrived in Cincinnati, the Bengals had another former first-round pick playing great football. Johnathan Joseph racked up 14 interceptions in his five seasons with the Bengals, establishing himself as a lockdown cornerback and one of the best ballhawks in the game.
Jones came to the Bengals in Joseph’s final season with the team, and would ultimately be relied upon to replace him.
Joseph signed a big free agent contract with the Houston Texans, where he has been for eight years. Jones also spent eight years with the Bengals, giving them nearly a decade of very solid, physical play.
