The Oakland Raiders are officially the worst team in the NFL. Who might they select with the 1st overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft?

After the Thursday Night Football loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the Oakland Raiders are officially the worst team in the NFL. Oakland is now one of two NFL teams to hold a record of 1-7, the other being the New York Giants. Although these two teams are tied in the standings, the Raiders proved last night they want the title of “worst team in the NFL.”

Their record is one thing, but losing to a third string QB takes losing to a whole new level. Nick Mullens shredded the Raiders by completing 16-of-22 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns. Do those numbers look like what you get from an undrafted QB in his second year, who had never thrown a pass in the NFL until last night? No.

I could almost guarantee if the Giants were playing Nick Mullens, that doesn’t happen. Maybe Mullens is a future NFL star, but the Giants are actually trying to win games. Rather than trying to win, the Raiders are tanking in the biggest way.

Head coach Jon Gruden has already shipped two of the teams best players away for draft picks. First it was Khalil Mack, then it was Amari Cooper. With those two being gone, it looked like QB Derek Carr would be the only capable player left for this team. Is it safe to even say that after Thursday night?

Between shipping away their best players and the poor performances from the players they have left, the Oakland Raiders will be picking first overall in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Who could they be targeting with that first overall pick?
