LSU Keys To Victory

Focused Joe Burrow

The transfer of Joe Burrow this past offseason from Ohio State turned out to be a little more important that expected. Burrow has not necessarily been putting on a show for the locals with just 1,544 passing yards and six touchdowns but his steadiness has been a welcoming sight for the eight games he has played.

This contest is undoubtedly the biggest game of his career and he’s playing against quasi-NFL team in Alabama. While he does not have to pick apart the Alabama defense for 300-plus yards but he has to be dialed in for this one. Burrow must be smart with his decision and precise with his throws.

Alabama feasts off quarterbacks who even make one mistake.

Big Plays On Defense

In a game such as this, LSU will have to have the better defense of the two teams. Simply because the offense is decent but not necessarily a unit that is capable of blowing a game wide open.

The LSU secondary has a pair of possible All-Americans in cornerback Greedy Williams and safety Grant Delpit and both have been very excellent this season. The defense is tied for first in the FBS in interceptions and overall, they are sixth in the country in takeaways per game.

Between a lights out secondary and front seven that is capable of enforcing their will, the Tigers defense has to come up huge in this one.
