College Football Week Nine Takeaways: Wildcats Win With A Walk-Off
Second half surge elevates Georgia
The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party is always on the national radar. This year, another battle between two upper echelon programs was the stage for the leader in the SEC East.
Limiting the Florida offense to 275 total yards and forcing three turnovers, #6 Georgia Bulldogs eventually knocked out the #13 Florida Gators in a 36-17 victory. Georgia sophomore quarterback Jake Fromm also had a key hand in the win with three touchdown passes, two to receiver Jeremiah Holloman.
Things have not been perfect for the Bulldogs this season with inconsistent play calling and parts of the defense in need of work at the moment. But this was a must-win for the Bulldogs to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive and they answered the call. Quarterback controversy might have come to an end thanks to Fromm’s performance and the sour taste in their mouth after a pivotal loss to LSU the week prior is now gone.
Their own destiny is in their hands from here on out.
