With week nine of the college football season in the books, lets pinpoint some key takeaways from this week’s college football action.

Upsets, upsets, a blowout here and there, and then another upset. A quick summarization of the week nine that was in the 2018 college football season.

The #12 West Virginia Mountaineers kicked the week off with a 44-point thrashing of Baylor at home in which they were up 41-0 at halftime. In Syracuse, the Orange earned a big 51-41 win over North Carolina State to become bowl eligible for the first time in five seasons. The #3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish continues to look strong to the College Football Playoff committee with a 44-22 road win over Navy.

Meanwhile, both #1 Alabama and #4 LSU rested during the week in anticipation for their mega showdown next Saturday with the winner likely winning out to become the SEC West champion. On to the takeaways from this past week in college football.
