Purdue

Biggest alum:  Drew Brees

More from NFL Mocks

It’s amazing how consistent Purdue has been at creating top quarterbacks over a long period of time, and their finest work is wrapping up one of the greatest careers in NFL history. Brees already claimed the record for most passing yards ever and is now in the exclusive club of 500 touchdown passes. Nobody would be surprised if he retires with every meaningful record. The only question left is whether he can get another Super Bowl ring.

Other notables:  Bob Griese, Len Dawson, and Jim Everett

Dawson and Griese are already in Canton. Dawson was one of the best quarterbacks of the 1960s and helped launch the successful AFL. Griese was the conductor of the iconic Miami Dolphins teams of the 1970s that went to three straight Super Bowls, won two and have the only perfect season in history. As for Jim Everett, he became a Pro Bowler in the late 1980s for some good Los Angeles Rams teams.

2019 watchlist:  David Blough

Blough has flown under the radar throughout most of his college career, but this season has been a pretty magical one for him. He’s thrown for over 2,000 yards in seven games with 13 touchdowns and just two interceptions. His brilliant performance against Ohio State (378 yards and 3 TDs) put him on the national radar for the first time. He’s got accuracy, a solid arm and poise. It will be about whether teams can overlook his modest 6’1 size.
