Biggest alum:  Philip Rivers

Rivers is the best passer in school history and has since gone on to become the best passer in the history of the Chargers franchise. That’s saying a lot considering he overtook Hall of Famer Dan Fouts to do it. Rivers has remained the most underappreciated quarterback of his era. Year after year he’s produced for some rather average teams with seven Pro Bowls and counting.

Other notables:  Russell Wilson, Roman Gabriel, and Erik Kramer

Wilson technically finished his college career at Wisconsin but he made his name on the big stage for the Wolfpack. Now he’s gone to four Pro Bowls and has a Super Bowl ring in Seattle. Gabriel was one of the first truly big quarterbacks in NFL history. His massive 6’6 frame was a sight to behold back in the 1960s and his two Pro Bowls showcase how good he was too. Kramer? He was never a star but he got the Detroit Lions to the NFC championship in 1991 and holds the Chicago Bears single-season passing record.

2019 watchlist: Ryan Finley

Finley is arguably the most pro-ready QB prospect in the 2019 class. He’s smart, efficient, polished in his mechanics with good size and a serviceable arm. He can run an offense well and makes few mistakes to hurt his team. Some will call that a game manager but there’s no denying he’s got enough skill to be a good player in the NFL.
