The Houston Texans have been on a nice streak of winning lately, but with Will Fuller’s ACL injury, they should be calling Dez Bryant.

The Houston Texans started the 2018 season 0-3, but have since won five straight games and look well on their way to an AFC South crown in year two of the DeShaun Watson era.

After their Thursday night blowout win over the Miami Dolphins in which Watson threw five touchdowns with no interceptions and a near-perfect quarterback rating, the Texans got some bad news that wide receiver Will Fuller would miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

The injury to Fuller is a huge blow to the Texans’ offense and obviously their receiving corps as a whole, so what can they do about it?

Sign Dez Bryant.

Bryant has missed half the season after flirting with signing with the Cleveland Browns during training camp and being released even earlier in the offseason by the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys have realized that the grass isn’t exactly greener without a player of Bryant’s caliber on the roster, trading a first-round pick for Amari Cooper. The Texans now have an opportunity to swoop in and get another touchdown machine at the receiver position to go with DeAndre Hopkins without surrendering a first-round pick.

In seven games this season, Fuller caught 32 passes (second most on the team) with four touchdowns (also second most on the team) and was the team’s leader in yards per catch.

As highly as the Texans think of rookie Keke Coutee (and rightly so) they are going to need someone who can legitimately come in and take pressure off of Hopkins.

The best player available without making a big trade and taking on a massive salary is going to be Bryant.

Even as his production has diminished in the last four years, Bryant has still been a touchdown machine when he’s playing, catching 14 over the past two seasons including six last year with the Cowboys.

He averages a touchdown about every 11 catches, and even though he hasn’t played football all year, he could come in and be a red zone weapon right away.

The Texans need to make this move just as much to replace Fuller as they do to take pressure and attention off of Hopkins. No one else in their arsenal of weaponry on offense is going to do that.

If Bryant comes in for the rest of the season, he can give Houston a huge boost and doesn’t have to go too far from the Dallas area. This move should most definitely happen.
